Ryan Homes was exactly the right choice for us for building our custom home. Right from the start you listened as we outlined the scope and numerous details of our dream home. You provided us with a very detailed list of specifications such that we could sign a contract with confidence. Your architect provided drawings that reflected and improved on what we wanted. We especially loved the wonderful 'Selection' notebook that simplified and guided us through the complex selection process. Because of that helpful notebook, we knew who your vendors were, what our allowances were, and in what order we needed to see your vendors to make all our selection decisions. It kept us focused, on budget and kept the project moving forward.
Tom and Stacey, you handled the few problems that came up professionally and always corrected them to the highest standard. You really worked with us to insure our concerns were met. That meant a lot to us. Ryan Homes is a first-class builder!
We also really respected and enjoyed working with all of your sub-contractors. We could tell that you were selective about who you used as subs. They were courteous, interested in our project, extremely competent at their jobs and, more often than not, put forth an extra effort that told us how much they cared about their work, our project and Ryan Homes.
Before we started our project someone told us that the measure of a successful project is, if at the end of it, you are still friends with your contractor, your project was successful. We will always count Tom and Stacey Ryan as well as all their subs among our friends.

Dear Tom and Stacey,
We just wanted to say how happy we are with the remodel that Ryan Homes did for us this past spring. Right from the start you both put us at ease and made everything so incredibly easy.
Needless to say, anyone who starts a remodel job in their home is hesitant about what will be occurring in the process. There are so many nightmare stories about remodels that take a nasty turn; leaving the homeowner in a bigger mess than when they started. Ryan Homes never gave us the feeling that they would leave us in limbo; i.e. our house torn apart and no one answering phone calls or email messages!
Right from the start you both made our family feel comfortable. There was a thorough directions given as to what we needed to do, you had schedules that were being met, if we had questions or concerns you responded in a timely manner. The subcontractors were also outstanding. Once they were done with their work for the day they would clean up after themselves. Not once did I walk into my home to witness a mess! Not to mention how friendly they were with our family-they were courteous and pleasant even with two kids and two pets that would sometimes pop in and out of their work.
The workmanship was outstanding. We have received so many compliments in regard to work. A few standouts are the basement flooring and bar area, the bathroom shower, the kitchen tile and granite and the upgrading of wood floors throughout the upstairs.
Thank you both again for such great work. Ryan Homes made what can be a painful process into a home we love!

In the Fall of 2009, we bought a 1980 split level which we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted it to look like when it was added on to and remodeled. We took our architectural plans to a few high-end and well recognized builders (including Kyle Hunt & Partners, TreHus – Architects & Builders...). In our quest to find the best builder, we also added Ryan Homes to the list. We had a fairly sizeable project on our hands and all the numbers came within a similar range. In the end we selected Tom Ryan with Ryan Homes, Inc. After meeting with Tom, we sensed that Tom genuinely cared about the process, quality, and budget as much as we did.
During the building and reconstruction period (Nov '09 – Mar '10) I was between jobs and was on site 90% of the time. Tom was looking to save wherever he could, which included allowing me to perform much of the demolition under his direction. After being on site for the first two months, I knew I would never allow another builder to touch my home or construction project outside of Ryan Homes.
The subcontractors from masonry to electrical were all top notch and did not miss a thing. Many times they would point out opportunities from their many years of experience and came in on budget; if not under. Like the subs, Tom and his carpenters were first class.
Ryan Homes brought additional added value where I believe most contractors would not. Before the remodel even started, Tom saved us thousands of dollars due to architectural errors. Rather than order directly off of the blueprints, Tom took the time to bring out engineers from the truss company and found the pitch of the roof the architect drew was incorrect and made sure we had the right materials the first time. Tom had ideas that he and my wife (Lynne) worked out together, such as window trim, center island, and cabinetry. Tom maximized the style and window sizing to allow for increased natural light and great views of the lake we live on. There's no way I could cover everything in this letter to tell you about the amazing transformation Tom did to our home to make our house what I believe is one of the best built in the Twin Cities.
Finally, I have to add, all the while Tom was orchestrating the build, moving to the ever changing ideas that came along, he was also swinging a hammer and meticulously working the fine details in finishing touches for which Tom is known.
